*NOTES FROM TOM

Notes from Tom:
On Thursday we will start our End of Fiscal Year Membership Drive. We need to raise $25,000 so we can end our fiscal year in the black. We’ve done a lot in this fiscal year: moved to new studios, added a number of podcasts, redesigned our website to include like our “Replay Room” and show current songs on the air, had many musical guests in the studios including Indigo Girls, Jeffery Gaines, and Bruce Springsteen.
We’ve pulled some songs from those interviews and put them on a compilation CD, Live at The NIGHT Volume 3. A fulfilled pledge of $150 ensures you a copy of the disc. This is a limited edition pressing, so make sure to get your copy today.

Internships have ended:
This past week we said goodbye to number of interns that helped us out this past semester. These students worked, hands on, with station staff to make the station sound better for you. They helped us in our production studios, news broadcasts, promotions, surf reports, and on our website. We wanted give a special thanks to Joe, Samantha, Chelsea, Natalie, and Tom for all of their help.

* ALBUM OF THE MONTH

Various Artists - Live at The NIGHT, Volume 3 - Brookdale Public Radio

The latest installment in our “Live at The NIGHT” series of Brookdale Public Radio exclusive CDs is finally available. With “Volume 3″ we have compiled some of our most impressive in-studio performances from the last few years. Included are a previously unreleased song from Jim Boggia, as well as exclusive, acoustic, live performances from Suzanne Vega, Indigo Girls, Jeffrey Gaines, Jesse Malin, Alexi Murdoch, Hamell On Trial, 4 Way Street, Hothouse Flowers, A Girl Called Eddy, Rod Picott, and The Grip Weeds. Oh yeah, and Bruce Springsteen. We’ve included the live at 90.5 The NIGHT version of “If I Should Fall Behind” recorded during Bruce’s surprise visit to Brookdale Public Radio in October 2005. These are all exclusive to WBJB-FM performances…you will not find any of these tracks anywhere else.
Volume 3, like Volumes 1 and 2, is available to listeners who become Members (or renewing Members) at the $150 level or above. This is a very limited edition release…when we run out, there will be no more. Ever. Visit www.90.5thenight.org and click on the green “Become A Member” button to find out more about Membership to Brookdale Public Radio. with well-received debuts have to get past. Maybe it’s in his blood. ?I Should Get Up? is the rocking first single that features Richard Thompson’s signature guitar slinging. And while Teddy is no slouch at the guitar, he isn’t the player his dad is (not many people are!), but he does share his dad’s knack for broken love songs and unassumingly poignant tales of regret and black sense of humour. He also has a better singing voice than dad (thanks mom!). All 12 tracks on ?Separate Ways? are terrific … well, 13 actually. There’s a hidden track of Teddy and Linda singing the Everly Brothers classic ?Take A Message To Mary.?
