BELMAR, N.J. (AP) – Officials in Belmar are considering tagging kegs in order to cut underage drinking.
The Jersey shore town has told the police chief to examine whether it’s practical to register beer kegs purchased from the community’s two liquor stores.
Some officials are not sure the program would work if neighboring towns don’t participate.
Twenty-five states and the District of Columbia have keg registration laws.
