VAN HALEN TOUR ON ‘SHAKY GROUND’

Posted on February 28, 2007 by

LOS ANGELES (AP) – The Van Halen tour is on shaky ground, according to those in the know. The Los Angeles Times quotes a top official at promoter Live Nation as saying the tour has been “shut down.” David Lee Roth says, “We have fragile politics in Van Halen. Please accept that as a partial answer.” He says it’s possible Eddie Van Halen will not show up to Van Halen’s induction into the Rock Hall in two weeks. As Roth puts it, “I don’t know if the Van Halens are going to go. I hope they do, but right now, I just don’t know. Hope springs eternal.” Roth says he will be at the induction ceremony, as will bassist Michael Anthony, who was not taking part in the reunion tour. Sammy Hagar will be inducted with the band as well and plans to attend.
