PRIVACY CONCERNS ABOUT HEALTH/MEDICAL SITE

CYBERSPACE (AP) – It’s an idea Microsoft has been kicking around for some time: a Web site that can manage personal health and medical information. But now that it’s up and running, some privacy advocates are worried the site could become a portal through which private information can be leaked. Microsoft’s HealthVault site is part filing cabinet, part library and part fax machine for an individual’s or a family’s medical records. It can store medical histories, immunization and other records from doctors’ offices and hospital visits, including data from devices like heart monitors.
