CYBERSPACE (AP) – The days of checking out comic books on a metal rack at the local 5-and-dime is long gone. And now, Marvel is trying to find a way to get some of its classic comic books in front of the eyes of kids who have cut their teeth on video games. The answer: the Internet. Marvel is showcasing original issues of comics like X-Men and Fantastic Four online. Under the new arrangement, comics can only be viewed in a Web browser, not downloaded. And the new issues of online comics won’t make it to the ‘Net until at least six months after they first appear in print. Marvel’s two main competitors currently offer online teasers designed to lure youngsters into the store to buy the comics.
