McGreevey Divorce Case Set To Resume

Posted on May 14, 2008 by

The nation’s first openly gay governor will be first on the witness stand when his high-profile divorce
case resumes.
An unexpected illness forced a one-day delay Tuesday.
Former Gov. Jim McGreevey is expected to testify that his incomeis limited because he is an Episcopal seminary student.
McGreevey, now openly gay, lives in a house owned by his boyfriend.
Trial testimony will begin today unless McGreevey and his estranged wife, Dina Matos McGreevey, can find common ground on monetary issues as they seek to dissolve their four-year marriage.
Issues of alimony, child support and how the couple should divide their assets and liabilities are unresolved.
McGreevey resigned from office in 2004 after saying he had an affair with a male staffer.
