NEW YORK (AP) – Jason Mraz has a new album out. But to put it together and stick his foot back in the music industry, he had to get away from it. He says he had to “withdraw” because he didn’t want his project to be “affected by the industry.” Mraz believes worrying about whether an album will sell or how it will fit into a particular style “can be a big distraction.” He is just about as unorthodox when it comes to touring. He says when he lines up a set of gigs and gets an itinerary he barely peeks at it. That way, he doesn’t get depressed from anticipating all the traveling he has to do. His new album is: “We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things.”
