Jim Boggia: Borders Emerging Artists Series

The Border’s Emerging Artist Series continues on Tuesday, September 9th, with Blue Hammock Recording Artist Jim Boggia!
Critics are calling Jim’s latest cd, “Misadventures in Stereo” a smashing power-pop success. The Philadelphia-based artist’s third album, labeled ‘a breath of fresh air’ will be available at the show, which, as always, is free and open to the general public.

ALBUM OF THE MONTH: Misadventures In Stereo

Once a member of 4 Way Street, Jim Boggia has just released his third album “Misadventures In Stereo.” Often considered a modern master at pop songcraft, this album shows Boggia hitting new highs. Tracks like “Johnnie’s Going Down,” “To And Fro,” “8 Track,” and “Listening To NRBQ” (with special guest NRBQ’s Al Anderson!) are proof that he’s getting even better. Recorded with a core of some of Philly’s best musicians, as opposed to the cavalcade of all-star guests that his previous albums had, he’s made a tighter and more cohesive album this time. The self-confessed record junkie even conceived the album as a record of two sides, though most will listen to all 10 tracks in sequence without stopping after five to turn the record over. He even has a special “monophonic” mix of the album for the vinyl version.
Catch him live at the Borders Emerging Artist Series (and pick up a copy of the album!) at the Borders on Route 35 in Eatontown on Tuesday September 9.

We are excited to be a part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County’s 2nd Annual Volleyball Tournament on Sunday, September 21st.  There is plenty to do as a volunteer, I’ll be there lending a helping hand!  The event is a great, fun, family-friendly day that benefits thousands of children in our community.  If you’d like to find out more…check out the events page at www.90.5thenight.org.  Or go to www.bbbsmonmouth.org.   Registration forms are available at any Starbucks in Monmouth County.
