LONDON (AP) – Paul McCartney says negotiations to release The Beatles catalog digitally are at a standstill. McCartney says the entire process is stalled. He says he hopes it will happen because he thinks it should. EMI owns The Beatles catalog but needs Apple Corps’ permission to release the music in new formats. Apple Corps has been a longstanding holdout in releasing music digitally. On top of that, Apple Corps and Apple Incorporated, which owns iTunes, were in a long-running trademark dispute that was resolved last year.
