Another busy day in the New Jersey Legislature.
Several bills are up for consideration today in both the Assembly and the Senate.
Among them is a measure that would let local governments and fire districts require that volunteer firefighters pass a physical before they can suit up.
A senate panel is set to debate the bill and, if it’s ultimately approved, it would take effect immediately. Meanwhile, an Assembly committee will hold a hearing that will focus on the state’s soured economy and what can be done to fix it.
They’ll hear from a panel of experts, including the state’s banking and insurance commissioner and a senior economist from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
