CHICAGO (AP) – Ingrid Michaelson has been both terrified and elated on stage. She taught children’s theater for four years and she says her roots in theater were useful because she could get on a stage and be someone else. It was different when she became a musician and had to get on a stage and be herself, because not everyone liked her music. She says as she got older, she realized some people will like her music and some won’t, and she can’t do much about it. Michaelson says she’s had stage fright but she keeps going on stage because she’s a born performer.
