CYBERSPACE (AP) - One of the early supporters of the idea of a rating system for video games is pulling the plug on itself. The National Institute on Media and the Family says it will shut its doors at the end of the year. The reason: a lack of funding. The group announced its plans last week, saying the “challenging economic environment” was the reason. The group was best known for its video game report card, which often criticized game designers for the sex and violence in their products.
