A leading New Jersey Democratic legislator says he has no idea how New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie plans to close a $1.2 billion gap in the current state budget — even after meeting with the new administration.

Senate Budget Committee Chairman Paul Sarlo says no specifics were discussed at a Thursday meeting between acting Treasurer Andrew Eristoff and Senate budget officials.

Christie said last week he would be ready to announce additional budget cuts by Friday.

But he’s now expected to put off any budget announcements until next week.

Sarlo said it’s a little frsutrating, but he’s willing to give the new administration more time to come up with the details.
