Some 40,000 electric customers on the New Jersey coast remain without power Monday, two days after a blizzard dumped up to 2 feet of dense snow on the area.
Atlantic City Electric spokeswoman Sandra May says that as of 6:30 a.m. Monday, about 39,400 customers in Cape May County were without power. A few hundred more in Atlantic County haven’t had their utilities restored.
May says crews are working around the clock.
At its worst, more than 90,000 homes and businesses in the state lost power Saturday.
May says that ice-covered limbs are still knocking power out in some places, even as crews restore it elsewhere.
