Transportation officials have one messgae for motorists in New Jersey: Slow and steady wins the race in the snow.
The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph on the Atlantic City Expressway.
Transportation Department spokesman Joe Dee says about 1,800 plows and salt-spreaders are on Garden State highways Friday.
Dee says the roads are snow-covered, but passable. However, motorists must allow extra time to reach their destinations.
Dee says the wind is blowing snow back on the highways after plows pass through.
North Jersey has more snow than the south.
New Jersey State Police will remove any abandoned or disabled vehicles on state and interstate roads until 6 p.m Friday.
