COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) — As vehicle thefts go — it’s a big one. Police are looking for someone who stole a 12-ton dump truck in Columbus, Georgia. The thief took the truck on a 106-mile-long joy ride. Ricky Catrett, owner of Flat Rock Sand and Gravel, says he was able to locate his missing truck thanks to a GPS tracking device. He tells the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer the navigation system logged the truck’s speed and location every five minutes. The truck thief may be a crook, but he’s not a speedier. The GPS tracker reveals the stolen dump truck never went over the speed limit.
