Motorcycle Breaks Record at 312mph

LIMESTONE, Maine (AP) — It’s one very fast ride. Bill Warner has set a new speed record on a conventional motorcycle — topping 300 miles per hour. The Florida man got the blistering speed runs at the former Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine. He hit just under 312 MPH. His bike is a turbocharged 1299cc Suzuki. Warner says his motorcycle “is built for speed and that’s what it did.” So-called streamliner motorcycles have gone faster. But the riders on those bikes are inside a missile-like light weight body.
