LEVON HELM TRIBUTE CONCERT PLANNED FOR OCTOBER

LOS ANGELES (AP) – The friends of Levon Helm of The Band will gather to remember his music. John Mayer, My Morning Jacket, Ray LaMontagne, Gregg Allman, Marc Cohn, John Hiatt, Bruce Hornsby, Mavis Staples and Joe Walsh are among the musicians will perform at a tribute concert outside New York on October 3. Proceeds will help Helm’s estate keep ownership of his home in Woodstock, New York, where he held Midnight Ramble jam sessions with guest musicians. His family intends to keep the sessions going.
