MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – A member of Jerry Lee Lewis’ band and former singer for The Hombres has died.
Police say keyboardist B.B. Cunningham Junior was killed in a shootout early Sunday. He was working as a security guard at an apartment complex and responded when another guard was shot at. Police say they found Cunningham and a 16-year-old boy dead of gunshot wounds. Cunningham was in the touring version of Ronny and the Daytonas, known for the song “G.T.O.” They became The Hombres, and he sang lead on their 1967 hit “Let It Out (Let It All Hang Out).” He had been in Lewis’ band since 1997.
