Officials to highlight Newark teacher contract

Gov. Christie will join education officials at a Newark school on Friday, to draw attention to a teacher’s contract that was ratified this week.  Teachers have reached a tentative agreement that makes Newark the first district in New Jersey to grant performance pay for educators and allow them to review one another.  The performance pay is funded primarily through a $100 million grant from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
