Poll measures extent of Sandy’s damage to NJ
A new poll gives a glimpse of Superstorm Sandy’s damage in New Jersey.The Rutgers-Eagleton poll released Tuesday finds more than two-thirds of people were affected by the storm. Of those affected, nearly two-thirds were without electricity for more than five days. One in five was forced to leave their home. Relief efforts received good marks. About three-quarters of residents affected by the storm said the Red Cross handled the situation very well or somewhat well. The survey found support for the power companies’ efforts. About three-quarters of people also said their electric company handled the crisis very well or somewhat well.
