PHISH FRONTMAN OPENS UP ABOUT DRUG USE

NEW YORK (AP) – Phish ! fr ontman Trey Anastasio says the lowest point of his life was right before Phish called it quits in 2004 — because he was a raging drug addict. Anastasio tells Rolling Stone keyboardist Page McConnell had told him for 20 years he had faith in Anastasio onstage, but for the first time he wasn’t sure. Anastasio was arrested for drug possession in 2006 and was humiliated that a Phish fan happened to be his jail guard. Anastasio is clean now and says he hates drugs.
