Two teenage girls have suffered non-life threatening injuries after being shot outside Essex County College following a high school basketball game in the college’s gym. The Star-Ledger reports that an Essex County Sheriff’s officer heard the shots at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday while patrolling the streets outside the gym. The game, between Shabazz and East Side high schools, was attended by more than 1,000 spectators. Each young woman was shot once.
