LOS ANGELES (AP) – “The show must go on.” With those words, Billie Joe Armstrong says Green Day is ready to hit the road again. The group is announcing new tour dates – now that Armstrong is done with rehab. The punk band scrubbed the rest of its 2012 club concert schedule – and delayed the start of an arena tour this year after Armstrong had an on-stage meltdown at a music festival in Las Vegas.
In announcing his return, Armstrong thanked fans for “the love and support” they’ve given. He says he’s “getting better every day” – and is ready to get back on the road. The tour is to begin March 28 in Chicago. Those holding tickets for postponed shows will be able to get in on the new dates while those who have tickets for canceled shows will get refunds.
