NJ kindergartner suspended over gun threat

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (AP) — Officials have suspended a New Jersey kindergarten student after they said he threatened to bring a gun to class.

Police were called to Lakewood’s Spruce Street School on Tuesday afternoon.

School Superintendent Laura Winters tells the Asbury Park Press (http://on.app.com/Whd6Iw ) the five-year-old boy received a two-day suspension. She declined to provide more information about the threat or the student.

Winters says this was the first time such an incident has happened with a kindergarten student.
