SEA GIRT, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be in Sea Girt Wednesday, touring boardwalk and sand dune rebuilding efforts in the wake of Superstorm Sandy.
The upscale Monmouth County community lost its ¾ mile boardwalk in the storm and has spent $2.5 million on cleanup and rebuilding costs throughout the town.
Officials hope to have the project finished by June 23.
Christie also plans to hold a recovery and rebuilding news conference at the National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt.
