LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bruce Springsteen sure knows how to drive up the price of an auction. Springsteen was honored at the Grammy’s MusiCares Person of the Year event in Los Angeles Friday. He asked the audience to bid on a Fender electric guitar and sweetened the deal by offering a one-hour guitar lesson. That pushed the bidding to $150,000. Then he added eight concert tickets and backstage passes with a tour conducted by Springsteen himself. That kicked it to $200,000. Then he threw in a lasagna baked by his mother. That boosted it to a winning bid of $250,000. Among those paying tribute to Springsteen was Elton John, Neil Young, Sting, Kenny Chesney, John Legend, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Patti Smith, Jackson Browne and Tom Morello.
