JACK WHITE NAMED AMBASSADOR FOR RECORD STORE DAY

NEW YORK (AP) – The ambassador for Record Store Day will be a guy who owns a record store himself: Jack White. Record Store Day is set for April 20 and it’s a day when independent music stores have special items for sale that the big stores don’t have. White owns Third Man Records in Nashville. White says his goal as Record Store Day Ambassador is “to invigorate whoever will listen with the idea that there is beauty and romance in the act of visiting a record shop and getting turned on to something new that could change the way they look at the world, other people, art, and ultimately, themselves.”
