MIDDLETOWN, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a fast-moving house fire that killed a central New Jersey mother and her adult daughter was an accident.
Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni says the bodies of 54-year-old Diane Young and her 27-year-old daughter, Jacqueline, were found Tuesday night inside the Middletown Township home they shared.
Autopsies performed on Wednesday determined that both women died from smoke inhalation.
The fire broke out around 10:45 p.m. on the second floor of the Ideal Avenue home.
Gramiccioni said the cause has been determined to be accidental, but did not provide further details.
