MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — A fast-moving fire has destroyed an apartment building in a southern New Jersey senior community, but officials say no residents were injured in the blaze.
Manchester Township authorities tell the Asbury Park Press that the fire in the Crestwood Village community started around 5:30 a.m. Sunday in a building that housed 4 apartments. It was not immediately clear how many people lived in the building, but they all got out safely.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Authorities say several pets perished in the fire, which remains under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office and Manchester police.
