LONDON (AP) – A beat-up olive green door with a broken pane of glass has sold at auction for $7,600 – all because it was the front door to Paul McCartney’s childhood home. Dominic Winter Auctions says the people who owned the house after the McCartneys replaced the door in 1978. Singer-songwriter Glen South acquired the door and has owned it ever since. There seems to be quite a market for Paul McCartney doors. The original door to his bedroom from the same house sold at auction in 1995 for $4,400.
