A unique fall festival celebrating the equine industry and its benefits to open space is happening this weekend.
The 2nd Annual Open Space Pace Parade & Festival of Horses is Saturday, September 21 beginning at 10 a.m. with a parade of horses in downtown Freehold. Monmouth County Freeholder, Lillian G. Burry will serve as Grand Marshal for the parade that leads to the Freehold Raceway for a day of racing, a petting zoo, food vendors, concerts (Eddie Testa Band and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes) and fireworks. Freeholder Lillian G. Burry encourages families to take advantage of this free, fun-filled festival.
Open Space Pace supports the equine industry
The Open Space Pace is more than just a fun, free festival. The purpose of the Open Space Pace is to educate the public on how New Jersey’s equine industry contributes to the economy, quality of life and open space preservation. Monmouth County Freeholder Lillian G. Burry said this industry supports thousands of jobs and is worth about 4 billion dollars.
