Verizon Wireless outages reported throughout NJ

TOMS RIVER, N.J (APP) — Verizon Wireless outages stretched into the night Thursday in some areas of New Jersey and New York, according to the Verizon Wireless outage website.

Most of the outages have been reported in Ocean County. A 7 p.m. post on the Facebook page of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department informed visitors “Verizon having an issue with their towers — all Verizon cells not working.”

Outages were reported on the Verizon website after 3 p.m. Thursday and the outage map showed customers throughout New York and New Jersey without service.

As of 9:40 p.m. Thursday, the Verizon outage map downdetector.com/status/verizon-wireless/map/ showed hundreds without wireless communication and data in Ocean County in New Jersey and in the Bronx, New York. Outages were still showing on the map as of 5:30 a.m. Friday.

Ocean County outage areas include: Toms River, Brick, Bayville, Point Pleasant Beach, Lakewood, Jackson, Manchester Township, Forked River and Beachwood, according to the Verizon website outage map.
