TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — During the current political stalemate in Washington, one place to turn for good news is the gas pump.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says gas prices continued to fall last week and should maintain that trend.
The organization says the average price nationally for a gallon of regular unleaded gas was $3.35 on Friday, two cents lower than a week ago. That also is 22 cents lower than a month ago and 46 cents lower than a year ago.
In New Jersey, a gallon of regular cost $3.22 last week, a drop of 57 cents from a year ago.
AAA says that, barring a hurricane or other major disruption to gasoline production, the national average could drop as low as $3.10 by Christmas. That would be the lowest price since early 2011.
