LACEY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — The Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station will test its emergency sirens Tuesday.
It’s part of a twice-yearly test that the plant in Lacey Township does annually.
The sirens will sound at about 10 a.m.
The Ocean County plant replaced 42 emergency sirens within a 10-mile radius with new units that have battery backups.
The purpose of the sirens is to notify residents to tune to an Emergency Alert System radio or television station in case of an emergency.
