The Cancer Support Community is a free program of support, education and counseling for people with cancer and their loved ones.
Open since May of 2007, this group has already served hundreds of residents of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and surrounding areas.
The mission of the Cancer Support Community is to help people affected by cancer enhance their health and well-being through participation in professional programs of emotional support, education, and hope. We are open to people with cancer, their family members, caregivers, and friends. All of the programs are free of charge and no participants will ever be asked to pay for services or complete an insurance form. Programs at the center revolve around four key areas: support groups, educational workshops, mind, body, spirit classes and social activities. There is no set regimen or required program – participants pick and choose programs based on their level of comfort and level of personal need. We currently offer more than 50 free programs, services, and activities each month.
Every day, the CSC offer professionally led support groups, educational workshops, nutrition and exercise programs and mind/body classes, so that people affected by cancer can learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation and restore hope – regardless of the stage of their disease.
The center is a safe haven to laugh, cry, learn and heal, because no one should face cancer alone.
