The goal of the Ronald McDonald House is to provide a true “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children receiving care at medical facilities near locations in Long Branch and New Brunswick. They also offer family rooms and a hospitality suite in the pediatric units of four hospitals in Monmouth and Middlesex County.
People who stay there are offered a welcoming, supportive environment during a time of uncertainty and stress. Family members can stay together in a comfortable home with private rooms and many amenities, helping them to remain strong throughout the course of their child’s treatment.
Although the Long Branch and New Brunswick Houses are licensed by Ronald McDonald House Charities, they are run autonomously by a local Board of Trustees, staff and volunteers. They operate through the generous support of area businesses, organizations, civic groups, schools and individuals, as well as through fundraising and special events. There are many ways to help them continue their mission of making a difference for families during a time of crisis. Needs range from having additional volunteers to providing wish list items, donations or fundraising assistance.
