South NJ man sentenced in man’s overdose death

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) — A southern New Jersey drug dealer who admitted selling a man heroin that led to his fatal overdose has learned his fate.

Kenneth Staunton received a 7 ½-year sentence Friday. The 33-year-old Lacey man will have to serve more than six years before he becomes eligible for parole.

Staunton had pleaded guilty last November to manslaughter and heroin possession charges stemming from the Jan. 16 drug-induced death of Raymond Farino, who was found inside his family’s Lacey home.

Investigators found the 27-year-old Farino had several wax paper folds containing white powder and stamped “IL CAPO” in green letters. They say that provided a direct link to Staunton as the dealer who supplied Farino.
