NJ woman convicted of sexually assaulting girl

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) — Jurors have convicted a New Jersey woman of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in 2010.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office says 29-year-old Maryellen Deane of Lakewood had sex with the child twice and her boyfriend joined them on three occasions. The boyfriend, 33-year-old Dennis Conover of Englishtown, is awaiting trial.

Deane and Conover were arrested in 2012.

Deane’s sentencing will be scheduled after she undergoes a psychiatric evaluation.
