Lawmakers holding hearing on Sandy monitoring

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — A New Jersey legislative committee is using a hearing to chide Gov. Chris Christie for not producing quarterly reports on the monitoring of Superstorm Sandy rebuilding projects.

The Assembly’s State and Local Government committee’s hearing is scheduled for Monday morning.

Some members of the committee are upset about how the administration has responded to a March 2013 law requiring independent monitors to oversee Sandy projects that cost more than $5 million.

So far, the Legislature has not received any of the quarterly reports called for in the law.
