Prosecutors: Robbery suspect shot at, stabbed man

NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Attempted murder charges have been filed against a man who allegedly shot at and stabbed a man during a robbery last weekend.

Monmouth County prosecutors say 20-year-old Cameron Keyes of Tinton Falls is also charged with attempted robbery, conspiracy and weapons offenses. His bail was set at $1 million cash, and it wasn’t known Tuesday if he has retained an attorney.

Authorities announced the charges on Tuesday.

They say the robbery occurred around 2 p.m. Saturday in Neptune Township, near the Route 18 pedestrian walkway. The victim, a 23-year-old township man whose name was not released, remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Keyes faces several decades in prison if he’s convicted on all counts.
