1st modular homes built after Sandy in Union Beach

UNION BEACH, N.J. (AP) — Two families will move into the first modular homes built after Superstorm Sandy caused destruction in Union Beach.

New Jersey’s first lady Mary Pat Christie will be on hand Wednesday to welcome the families home.

The group “Rebuilding Union Beach” developed the grant project to fund the construction of modular homes for up to 15 eligible families who lost homes in the northern Monmouth County community.

The project was funded by the Hurricane New Jersey Relief Fund that Christie oversees and the Robin Hood Relief Fund.
