Monmouth County – Monmouth County’s Division of Consumer Affairs has launched an initiative to protect Shore town businesses and beachgoers this summer.
The Division is in the process of going door to door to businesses on the boardwalks in Monmouth County to remind them of the statutes and return policies set forth by the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.
Businesses have been notified that, as per the Act, all merchandise must have a tag or label with the selling price. Also, a business may have any return policy they wish as long as it is clearly visible to the consumer before the sale is made.
