AAA Mid-Atlantic: NJ gas prices down slightly

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Motorists are seeing lower prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the state on Friday was $3.55, down 2 cents from last week. But that’s still higher than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.39.

The national average price was $3.63, down 3 cents from last week. But that’s still more than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.52.

Analysts say concerns about political tensions and violence in Iraq continue to ease, leading to lower crude oil prices and lower pump prices.
