TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) — Ocean County’s only Catholic high school is changing its name as it deals with declining enrollment.
Monsignor Donovan High School in Toms River will be known as Donovan Catholic.
Principal Edward Gere tells the Asbury Park Press (http://on.app.com/1tvOXvV ) monsignor is a difficult term nowadays. Gere says the school has hired a marketing firm to help with the transition.
The school has been known as Monsignor Donovan since it changed its name from St. Joseph High School in 1983.
