SEA BRIGHT, N.J. (AP) — Workers have demolished a Jersey shore restaurant that fell victim to Superstorm Sandy and the winter.
Machines tore through the Rum Runner in Sea Bright on Monday.
The restaurant opened in 1987 along the Shrewsbury River in Sea Bright.
The restaurant flooded and lost its dock during Sandy in 2012. Then this winter caused a pipe in the fire suppression system to burst, soaking everything inside.
Owner Tim McLoone tells the Asbury Park Press (http://on.app.com/1qXmldp ) he met his wife in the building. McLoone says he plans to build a new Rum Rummer on the same spot.
