AAA Mid-Atlantic: NJ gas prices still falling

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Motorists continue to see lower prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the state on Friday was $3.46, down 5 cents from last week. That’s also lower than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.61.

This marks the third straight week that gas prices have fallen in New Jersey.

The national average price was $3.54, down 5 cents from last week. That’s also less than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.66.

Analysts say greater than expected gasoline production at the nation’s refineries has spurred the lower pump prices, despite ongoing concerns about simmering geopolitical tensions.
