Sheriff’s office signs up more than 1,000 kids for Youth ID cards

FREEHOLD (NJ.com) – More than 1,000 youth identification cards were issued during the Monmouth County Fair and the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand at National Night Out in six municipalities issuing cards.

“The Youth ID Program is offered year round and helps ensure the safety of our children, which is a top priority at the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office,” Golden said. “The photo ID process is fast, friendly and does not compromise the privacy or identity of a child.”

In an emergency situation, parents or guardians are asked to give that card to first responders to help with the safe return of the child, authorities said.

Signup for Youth ID cards will be at National Night Out on Aug. 5 in Long Branch, Neptune, Manalapan, Sea Girt, Fair Haven and Ocean Township.
