Point Pleasant Beach (NJ.com) – The “American Idol” 2015 auditions have already come and gone, but for those Jersey singers looking for a big payday, another competition has dropped into their backyards.
Auditions for “Jersey Shore Karaoke Idol,”organized by the Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau, have already begun to descend upon the Shore, promising a $10,000 prize and three-night stay in the Dominican Republic for the competition’s top singer, and a $500 consolation prize for “Absolutely the Worst” singer.
The auditions (schedule below) welcome singers from the Garden State and beyond, from age 11 and up, in hopes of setting the Guinness World Record for largest karaoke contest. The competition’s “Grand Finale” will take place Nov. 16 at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park. For more details, visitjerseyshorekaraokeidol.com.
