Joe Leone and Marilyn Schlossbach are Sleeping On The Boardwalk In Asbury Park To Support Homeless Youth

On Tuesday, May 16th, we are heading out to the Asbury Park Boardwalk with a sleeping bag and cardboard box to raise money for Covenant House Asbury Park. For a few uncomfortable nights, we will leave our families and the comfort of our homes to experience what it’s like to be without a home. We will not be attending to our businesses. We will not be taking showers. We will not go home until we have reached our goal.

We both live and work on the Jersey Shore and are committed to helping the people in our community who are in need. We decided to partner in this event to bring support and awareness to Monmouth County homeless teens.  Did you know that last year in New Jersey over 750 youth came to Covenant House’s doors searching for shelter?  We want to help and we hope you do too.

Please know and trust that your donation will go directly to serving homeless youth in Monmouth County by helping to fund the new Covenant House/ Interfaith Neighbors Rights of Passage program currently being built on 522 Prospect Avenue in Asbury Park. Scheduled to open in Fall, 2017, this program will provide safe, transitional housing for local Monmouth County youth who are currently homeless.

We know that our nights on the Boardwalk are nothing compared to what homeless kids really go through. We will be safe and we will be fed. Yet we hope that our campaign will send a clear message to all homeless youth that they are not alone. We care. People care.

Don’t leave us on the Boardwalk! Please help us reach our $50,000 goal by clicking on the “Donate To This Campaign” button above today.

We are very grateful for your support. Every dollar counts!
